Board and Committee books prepared for planned meetings of the Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB) and designated committees to conduct official business. The contents of these books include agenda of the day and documents relevant to direct business as outlined on the agenda. The Board book would contain the minutes of the previous meeting. Meetings of the Board are held four times a year and Committee meetings are held as needed to conduct business. These materials, provided in a bound format, serve as a guide to those participating in planned meetings of the WAB.

The Arts Board was created as a statutory agency by Chapter 90, Laws of 1973, and was subsequently attached to the Department of Administration (WIHV85-A694) by Chapter 333, Laws of 1973. 1995 Wisconsin Act 27 attached the Board to the Dept. of Tourism (WIHV90-A1094). The Board was preceded by a nonstatutory committee, the Governor's Council on the Arts, created in 1963.
